BETWEEN TWO SHORES screen print
Description:
“Between Two Shores”
3-colour screen print
63.4 x 46cm
2018
Edition: 35
Notes: Artwork originally created for Glen Hansard’s European “Between Two Shores” album tour in 2018. This screen print edition features the “Between Two Shores” artwork only (a slightly altered composition and a richer blue and printed on to woodstock betulla 285gm, a recylced paper stockwith fibrous surface), and was produced to coincide with a group show at the 2020 Art Gallery, Cork during 2018.
The screen print is created from a number of linocut pieces (boatsman, lantern, flame, ship, sun) together with various scans made from poured india ink (to represent the high seas). I like using a hand-printed linocut so its imperfection and texture will show through on the final screen print.
